Here in Hertfordshire, many of us are able to experience the best of both worlds- stunning countryside walks and great transport links. With some Herts towns less than an hour away from the capital, Hertfordshire is home to several popular commuter towns with some stations even appearing on the tube map.
One of the most rural stations on the Tube network is Moor Park which sits right on the border of Hertfordshire and Greater London. In true Hertfordshire fashion, the station is so rural that one exit leads directly out to a golf course and is surrounded by woodlands.
Residents in the area can get to Baker Street in just 34 minutes and from there they can hop on the Jubilee, Bakerloo, Circle and Hammersmith & City lines connecting them to all parts of London. It's no surprise that this area has become a popular spot for residents wanting a bit of both country and city.

However, while Moor Park certainly offers commuters a quieter life, whether it's actually located in Hertfordshire has been something of a debate for many years. The town spans across both Rickmansworth and Northwood. Northwood is an area in North West London, located within the London Borough of Hillingdon, while Rickmansworth is definitely in Hertfordshire, reports My London.
The entrance and exit to the station is on Main Avenue, in Northwood. However, the station prefers to receive its post at the back of the station, which is in Hertfordshire. It's also a matter which TfL and the Royal Mail can't seem to agree on.
TfL has the station's address as North Approach, Northwood, HA6 2JQ – meaning they classify it as in London. On the contrary, Royal Mail classifies it as in Hertfordshire as the station prefers to receive its post at the back of the station which is Rickmansworth.
Here at HertsLive, we have decided that we're going to claim Moor Park as one of our own. Sorry London.
