Teenage heartthrob, Justin Bieber, dated the Wizards of Waverly Place star Selena Gomez from 2011 to 2018. When Bieber suddenly got engaged to Hailey Baldwin after their split, "Jelena" fans were left to search for answers.
Years later, it seems the Jelena audience still struggles to move on – but the same doesn't go for Gomez at all. "I felt haunted by a past relationship that no one wanted to let go of, but then I just moved past it. I wasn't afraid anymore," Gomez says. She also believes the split was actually the greatest thing to ever happen to her. "I feel like I had to go through the worst possible heartbreak ever, and then just forgetting everything at the drop of the hand, it was really confusing," she says. "But I just think that needed to happen and ultimately it was the best thing that ever happened to me."
Recently, Gomez and Hailey posted a picture together, surprising fans on social media. I guess it is true that all of them have moved on! According to a close source that spoke to ET, the girls are "more than cordial and just want to remain friendly." "Justin, Hailey, and Selena are glad to have cleared the air, moved on with their lives, and closed that chapter," the source says. "Selena is doing amazing and is just focusing on herself, her family, and her close-knit circle of friends. She's not trying to settle down right now and she's just living her best life."
Gomez's highly anticipated documentary titled, Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me is set to premiere on Apple TV+ on November 4, 2022. While the "Baby" singer played a huge part in Gomez's life, the film doesn't really go into too much detail about their whirlwind romance – and we're actually happy about that. Instead, the beautifully shot documentary focuses on the most intimate parts of Gomez's personal story, her battle with a mental illness, and her path to healing.
