Oil-rich Azerbaijan could be flowing 7 gigawatts of power harnessed from Caspian Sea winds by 2040, provided the “right long-term vision” by government and industry that balances decarbonisation and sustainable economic growth is put in place, according to the World Bank Group.
The work, carried out by the World Bank and sister organisation the International Finance Corporation, resulted in a first-ever ‘roadmap’ to guide Baku’s policy plans.
