As ‘cake culture’ takes over in many workplaces, it is evident that dreadful things are happening to many workers’ teeth, and the increasing waistlines have been known to hinder office workers’ ability to reach the desk.
Brett Dunning, office cake muncher was left mortified when he was hand-picked to take part in a new study. By replacing his favourite snacks with Blueberries to see if his memory improves. ‘What’s a Blueberry?’ He said.

During a recent research into the effect of Blueberries, one group of subjects were given a cup of Blueberry powder mixed with water once a day for 3 months. The other test subjects were given a cup of powdered cake and water mixture. Each subject was given a series of memory tests every day.
According to an unknown institute, subjects who consumed Blueberry powder drinks showed a significant improvement in their memory. However, subjects who were given cake powder drinks showed no difference in memory, but enjoyed the taste.
As for Brett, who took part in the test said, ‘I had noticed a difference with my memory within 4 days. The down-side of this experiment, I wasn’t one of the ones given a placebo. I didn’t like the bitter taste and is something I’ll never forget, but remembering the taste of a cake was pure torture.’
Scientists have emphasised the importance of adding Blueberries to your diet. As you head toward the slow descent into middle-age, it’s important to have a sharper memory for all the foods you can longer eat.
