Science touting clickbait site IFLScience is at it again. In a recent article they claim that the strange clouds seen in the image above are actually swarms of midges. However Natural Newd disagrees. Other sources on the internet are claiming, more truthfully that while these clouds are indeed created by midges there is no possible way that midges alone could create clouds. It would require literally millions of these creatures to band together to create such a cloud.
It is our unbiased opinion that the midges have been genetically modified and secrete hydric acid from their abdomens when agitated, thus causing low level clouds to form. Malawi seems to be a likely place to experiment as natives would probably not notice a few more midges. If questioned the scientists behind the project can always pull the philanthropy card and declare that the midges are being developed to combat AIDS or starvation.
Little more is known about this project and the result is uncertain, just as the humour content of this badly written article is... uncertain.
