A perfect balance of hormones in our life means our body functions smoothly.
The primary female hormones include estrogen and progesterone. Estrogen is secreted in the ovaries, adrenal glands and fat cells. An imbalance of it can lead to bloating, fatigue, hair loss, blood sugar spike and fertility issues. Progesterone is the hormone responsible for regulating the inner lining of the foetus. It is essential to maintain progesterone levels in balance, particularly for women who are trying to conceive, as this hormone prepares the uterus for pregnancy. The imbalance of progesterone hormone levels results in headaches, anxiety, depression or an irregular menstrual cycle.
The irregular timings of hormones can be well-treated with the help of herbs. Herbs are a group of plants whose leaves, flowers, roots, and seeds are used for various purposes.  

Since ancient times, herbs have been used to treat hormonal imbalance. Their healing properties can put a pause on your hormone issues.  A hectic lifestyle, poor eating habits, and stress can create havoc on women’s hormonal function. Even healthy women with good dietary practices may end up with hormone imbalance issues. PMS, uterine fibroids, osteoporosis, reduced sex drive, unexplained weight gain, skin changes, fatigue, water retention, hair loss, facial hair growth and mood changes are symptoms associated with hormonal imbalance.

Ashwagandha, also known as winter cherry, is an evergreen shrub from the nightshade family. It’s highly regarded in herbal medicine, with many ashwagandha supplements, teas, and root powders widely available. 
This herb can reduce stress which moderates the brain’s adrenaline rush, helps in maintaining the cortisol hormone and alters the insulin level.  
Green Tea

Another way of treating hormonal imbalance is with the help of green tea. According to the studies, Green tea shows its health effects by the chemicals known as polyphenols that have antioxidant properties. Biologically active polyphenols are catechin, gallocatechin, epicatechin, epigallocatechin, epicatechin gallate, and epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). In addition, it also contains caffeine, theobromine, and theophylline. 
Being an active potential herb, green tea also includes prolactin which worked very well for women who are running through menopause.  
Nigella Sweets

Nigella sativa is also known as kalonji or fennel flower. Its flowers produce tiny black antioxidant-rich seeds. These seeds have medicinal properties, as they contain thymoquinone – a type of phytonutrient, or plant compound. A common hormonal disorder called PCOS is said to be treatable with this herb.  
Black Cohosh Root

Black cohosh is a herb used to treat perimenopause and menopause symptoms, including hot flashes, moodiness, vaginal dryness and excessive sweating. 
Women dealing with menopause should consider having this herb as its likely to relieve symptoms related to reductions or imbalances in the hormone estrogen. 
Though these herbs are harmless and highly recommended. If the problem still persists, consult a gynaecologist.
